Biography
Surkhay Musayev was born on February 1, 1951 in the village of Fizuli, Samukh Region (then Khanlar Region).
In 1967 he graduated from the high school named after M.A. Sabir in Samukh Region.
After working for a year at the farm, in 1968 he entered the faculty of Pediatrics of the Azerbaijan Medical Institute and after N.Narimanov (current university), and graduated it with honors in 1974.
Surkhay Musayev worked at the Department I of Children’s Diseases of the Azerbaijan Medical University as a doctor in 1974-1977, as an assistant in 1977-1985, as an assistant professor in 1986-1992, and as a professor since 1992.
At the same time, Surkhay Musayev headed the Komsomol Organization of the University in 1974-82, the Party Committee of the University in 1983-88, and the Trade Union Committee of the University in 1994-2010. He defended his Candidate’s thesis in 1985, and the Doctoral thesis in 1992.
Surkhay Musayev is an author of more than 150 scientific papers. 5 candidates of science have been prepared under his supervision, and 4 young researchers are working on their thesis.
By the Orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Surkhay Musayev was awarded the title “Honored Physician” in 2000 and “Honored Science Worker” in 2010.
From April 2010 he was appointed to the position of the director of the Training and Therapeutic Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University, established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan I. Aliyev.
He worked in this position until 2016.
Currently, Professor Surkhay Musayev continues his profession of a physician at the Training and Therapeutic Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University.
